It is no secret that we're fans of the magical world of Hogwarts. Some of you may have even had a cup or two of our Hogwarts House Tea Blends. Now that all of our Hogwarts-inspired tea blends have been retired, many a fan of the remedies have been clamoring (quite kindly) for more tea for their alumni association gatherings, their Quidditch matches, and for study breaks in the common rooms. I am happy to let you know that a Hogwarts herbal recipe book is currently in production including all of our Hogwarts House Tea Blends and many, many more recipes, as well as tips, tutorials, and printables to throw your own magickal tea party!
Until the book is finally published (and you think that keeping track of Wizard pictures is hard - try keeping Wizard teas from continuously running off with the kettle!), we'll be sharing Hogwarts recipes with you - for free! - until the book premieres. Most will be published through our blog, but a few will only be available to the subscribers of the Hedgehog Herald - our free, fully enchanted newsletter.
The first recipe was created for the birthday party of a friend and fellow Hogwarts alumni who belongs to the House of Slytherin. Her only request was some raw chocolates for the festivities, so I decided to create a blend that would appeal to the Slytherin demographic while also not being somewhat questionable to everyone else (bless those, snakes). The following blend was a great hit and found alumni of all the Houses singing and birthday jinxing well into the night!
Slytherin Sex Raw Chocolates If you are of Slytherin House the name or purpose of these chocolates come at no surprise. If you don't sport the green and silver of this wizarding house you can still enjoy the feel-good, aphrodisiac-laced, and just a bit naughty raw cacao treats. These are meant to be sweet, more milk chocolate-ly chocolates, so adjust your sweeteners accordingly (such as substituting the coconut sugar with lucuma or the agave with stevia, maple syrup, or your sweetener of choice).
Gentle melt the following in a double-boiler or bain-marie. You can make your own double-boiler if you don't already have one.
- 50 grams Cacao Butter
- 50 grams Coconut Oil
While your oils are melting, mix together the following dry ingredients:
- 80 grams Cacao Powder
- 50 grams Coconut Sugar
- 20 grams Maca Powder
- 2 teaspoons Chlorella Powder
- 1 teaspoon Shatavari Powder
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Powder
- Pinch of good quality Salt
Add to your dry ingredients the following:
- 100 grams Raw Agave Syrup
- 1 - 3 dropperfuls of Rose Glycerite
- 1 drop diluted Rose Essential Oil
Mix together and then finally add your melted oils. Mix again and then pour your chocolate into molds (the flexible silicon molds are my favorite) or pour out onto a baking sheet covered in wax paper to make a chocolate bark. Place in the fridge or freezer until firm. Chocolates are best kept chilled until they are ready to serve as they are not room temperature stable.
These chocolates have been known to turn a serious Slytherin sneer into low grade smirks and even into the seduction Slytherin smile so many fall hard for.
